Sao is an extremely eye-catching, competitive and fun dressage gelding, turning heads wherever he goes. Sao has three good paces. His walk is regular with a good over track. He has a fabulous rhythmical trot with bounce and elevation, and a ground-covering canter. Sao has good manners, and is easy to handle at home and away. Sao was successful in young horse classes and was reserve preliminary champion at the 2016 Tamworth Dressage in July Championships. He is currently graded novice and is training medium, always in the ribbons, and consistently scoring in the mid- to high 60s. He is a Trakehner/TB with Kassiber and Koenigsburg on the sire side. Kassiber was an advanced eventer with Simon Kale and was almost unbeatable in the late 1980s. Kassiber was also a very fancy Prix St Georges dressage stallion. Konigsberg was a lovely individual and as a sire did produce some World Cup show jumpers. On the dam line is the thoroughbred stallion Agricola who was the sire of Apache ridden by Vicki Roycroft and still to this day the only Australian horse to win a World Cup Qualifier outside Australia, that being Rome. Agricola is also the dam line of Brilliant Invader who is the sire of numerous Olympic gold medallists (Ready Teddy) and world champions. Twinkle Kingdom carries the Blue Peter blood, which is very serious jumping blood from days gone by, and Grey Yacht, right down the bottom, was also known for jumping prowess. Dyrring Park Sao is clearly a lovely, lovely dressage horse, however, I would bet my bottom dollar that if anyone cared to jump him he would be sensational.
