Buckwell Park Odyssey is a tall, well-grown yearling gelding with a fantastic temperament. He has three correct and powerful paces – good over-track in walk; his trot is expressive with suspension and great bend through his hocks and knees; his canter is light, balanced and uphill. His sire is the very popular Byalee Briar who possesses some of the best Grand Prix genetics in the world. Briar is also the only Bjorsells Briar 899 stallion in Australia and is showing great talent in piaffe, passage, pirouettes and tempi changes. His progeny is much sought-after, attracting prices such as $72k for Byalee Breathless at AOS 2015. Odyssey’s dam, Buckwell Park Alabama, is by Jaybee Alabaster, who was imported in utero and exported back to Germany, having represented Australia at WEG in 2010 and World Cup 2012. Buckwell Park Alabama, now deceased, was one of our best producing broodmares – Buckwell Park Galaxy, purchased at AOS by Olympian Sue Hearn, is showing great aptitude for his training and big things are expected. Buckwell Park Heir Apparent is a full brother to Buckwell Park Odyssey. Heir Apparent was shown as a yearling and was both a royal and national champion at such a young age and is now in training and already attracting high scores in the dressage arena. He is siring some very impressive progeny. One for the future!
