Radar is a lovely big young horse, specifically bred to be a top Grand Prix dressage horse. His sire is the incredible Regardez Moi, who is the most winning Grand Prix dressage stallion in Australian history. Radar’s dam, Indi, is by Don Ramiro. Don Ramiro carries the famous Donnerhall and Pip Bube lines. Don Ramiro was bought from Germany and ridden by Heath Ryan. He turned into the most spectacular young stallion. Heath had called him the best 4yo in the world – and soon after, Don Ramiro was sold back to Germany. Radar is still gangly but Hazel believes he will mature into a magnificent horse in due time. Radar has three good, rhythmical paces. His walk is regular with great overtrack. The trot has rhythm and purpose and will one day be spectacular. Radar’s canter is balanced and very supple and soft to ride. He has a big ground-covering stride but is also showing clear signs of talent in collection. Radar has been out competing at dressage, showjumping and eventing. Radar is scoring 70% at preliminary level dressage with wins and placings. Radar has showjumped rounds up to 90cm and is very brave and confident over crosscountry fences. Radar is a lovable and affectionate character who tries really hard. Says Hazel: ‘I believe this is his biggest quality. He almost always improves on a daily basis, which I believe is a sign of a very good horse.’
