Rouge R is the most magnificent statuesque 4yo mare. She is by Regardez Moi, who has on three occasions been the Australian Grand Prix Champion and who has had such a great influence on the Australian Grand Prix scene in terms of his offspring. Indeed his son Utopian Cardinal was also the Australian Grand Prix Champion in 2016. Rouge R is carrying the Bjorsells Briar 899 bloodline on her dam side, a sire that was for seven years the world’s number one dressage breeding stallion. Right down the bottom line is Salute who is perhaps the most influential stallion in Australia today in terms of the Olympic disciplines. Salute was the sire of Victory Salute who was 9th in the world with Brett Parbery in Kentucky 2010. Rouge R had a Questing R foal last year and this is being retained by Ryans. Rouge R has a wonderful temperament and is quick and enthusiastic to learn. She is a soft character and very likeable. By the time of the auction she will have been broken in for 10 weeks. The breaking in has been done by Cathryn Herbert who is resident at Ryans, is not normally involved with breaking in, and is better known for her dressage and event riding. Rouge R has fabulous paces and we think she is a top-of-the-range competition horse at the very beginning of her career. No matter what price Rouge R demands at the Auction she will be cheap and represents a brilliant investment.
