Lot 20 - Rock Legend

Rock Legend is a black colt with two white hind socks, a compact body, an independent personality and a real future in front of him. When Rock Legend feels like it, he has paces that boom up into the atmosphere. He is, however, a pretty laidback character and is happy cantering and skipping and bucking his foal life away playing with his many friends in the kindergarten paddock.

His mother, Shakira, is a magnificent broodmare very closely related to Samphire (who is offered as a broodmare in this catalogue) as both are by Salute and out of full sisters, Samphire from Lilac and Shakira from Lucilla.

These bloodlines are fascinating with Salute being the sire of Stirling Stilton – highest placed Australian Grand Prix dressage horse at the WEG Jerez 2002; DP Christopher 2005 NSW Grand Prix dressage champion; Victory Salute 2006 NSW Grand Prix Champion; GV Sioux 4* eventer; and Staccato, World No 1 eventing stallion.

Also keep in mind that Shakira’s mother Lucilla is a full sister to Stirling Liberty (World Cup showjumper with Olympian Gavin Chester and sire of Grand Prix horse Snowy River Blackwood), Stirling Luther (FEI dressage stallion with Dirk Dijkstra) and Stirling Luftman (FEI dressage stallion in Thailand).

Rock Legend is by Regardez Moi who has just scored a 10 for piaffe in an official Grand Prix test, maybe a first for Australia. You would have to think that Rock Legend is going to have a great future.
